As the year winds down so does another thrilling and, at times, hilarious ThesePeople season of comedy.

We leave you with a just (barely) in time for New Year’s Sketch “Midnight Kiss” starring our good friend and founding member Kim “Kat” Cooper.

This year brought a lot of firsts for ThesePeople including our first DVD (on sale on the site now) and our first ever STAGE performance. Not only that, we cranked out 19 more sketches for you to enjoy.

We are looking forward to trying some new things and finally getting around to a pile of scripts we’ve got stored up in 2K10 (spoiler alert some scripts are CAT related) so we hope you’ll stay tuned for more of our general Internet wackiness.

As people sometimes do at the end of a year (or season) we like to look back at the year that has passed and call out our favorite ThesePeople moments. Rather than make a hokey list, we’ll just call out every member’s favorite sketch (luckily there weren’t a lot of repeats)

There’s no disagreeing with the science behind ranking our very own material. We first assigned each sketch released this year an arbitrary point value (1-999), then put all the names in a hat, and then drew for their spot. If you’ve got a problem with that, then tell us what’s missing in the comments!

Nick says “I love comedy and hate d-bags. It’s the perfect sketch.”

9) Super Lucky Sweepstakes
Joel says “I feel like this was a nice bit of writing from the three of us (pre-Tim and Jeff). A lot of little jokes crammed in with help from Steve’s Photoshop, and Nick delivered his best Daniel Plainview impression.”

#8 Please Do Not Use
Joel says “I’m not sure how this one is so high up. My ranking algorithm must be off. Also, turns out there are a ton of people searching for videos about urinals on YouTube.”

7) Homemade Porn
Matt says “5 and a half MILLION views. Sure it’s easy to say that the thumbnail and the title get it views, BUT it has also maintained a 4-star rating AND has a ton of positive comments, because it’s funny and it’s actually about what it says it’s about… there’s just no porn. Oh, and I can see the towel she’s wearing at 1:33.”

6) Potato Buddy
Tim says “I do love ‘lame, old people humor.’ My favorite, hash brown! I mean, hands down.”

5) The Englishman
Matt says “I could barely stand when we shot this, but this little two shot masterpiece filmed on location in LONDON with our good friend Sean really turned into a sleeper hit for us. Plus I love the comments calling either his or our accents fake.”

4) Zack Braff vs. Seth Rogen
Matt says “Like many sketches, this one was based on something that really happened to Jeff and I one night, and since the release of the sketch Jeff and I now regularly inform each other of when we have either been ‘Braffed’ or ‘Rogened.’”
Nick says “So much crazy, hilarious stuff happened behind the scenes on this sketch. It just added to the magic of this video.”
Joel says “Oh do tell Nick…”

3) Killing Button
Matt says “When YouTube chose to put this on their front page I was delighted, as this could be my favorite LOOKING sketch of ours of all time, and the now famous “sandwich” ending (which was literally thought up the morning of the shoot) made the sketch. Another great performance from Lauren, a wonderful job by Joel, and I’m wearing my duck T-shirt. The only problem was when we put it online we didn’t realize Joel actually says “dollars” at the beginning. Oops.”

2) JOLCats
Tim says “This video can haz my #2 spot.”
Joel sez “When this leaked at work it definitely changed the way my co-workers looked at me.”

1) Stick-It-In Burger
Matt says “‘I thought of that!’ Choking kids, adorable animated burgers, and a blockbuster performance from Paul “Lester Stickens” Painter made this a YouTube hit when they put it in their comedy spotlight.”
Joel says “I still remember how much we were cracking ourselves up when we thought of the idea at Shield’s. Sometimes it’s hard for the finished sketch to live up to those initial laughs but this one did, and Nick’s wave at the end still kills me everytime.”
