SAY CHEESE! SHOCKtoberSketch Week #2

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

SHOCKtoberSketch picks up steam this week with our second release “Polaroid.” This sketch is loosely based off of a Goosebumps book that was even more loosely based off of an old Twilight Zone episode. In the week’s terrifyingly hilarious adventure the These People guys find themselves in the possession of a Polaroid instant camera with a most spectacular ability…the ability to reveal the future! What fates await them? FIND OUT! In “Polaroid!” We don’t need any future lookin’ into camera to find out what’s in store for you, the viewer, because we already know! Laughs! And lots of’em!

This sketch was a really fun ensemble sketch for the troupe, which posed quite a problem on the shoot as we realized that there were only 5 of us and several scenes required all five of us to be on screen at once. But being the professional sketch comedians we are, we rolled with it and made it work. I love it, and I hope you will too.

AND don’t forget….These People T-shirts are NOW ON SALE!!! Check out our “store.” If you have any questions/comments you can always reach us here.

See what develops…

If you say that like “OCTOBERFEST” but start it with “SHOCK” and end it with “Sketch” instead of “fest” you’ll be exclaiming the name of These People’s latest undergoing. As previously promised throughout the entire month of October (arguably the best month around) These People will be making you wet yourself with both uncontrollable laughter AND fear rather than just one or the other as per usual.

Take this week’s offering “Black Velvet Ribbon” it follows in the footsteps of one of my personal favorites “Late Night Ride” and updates and retells an old horror story ripped right from the pages of “Tales for the Midnight Hour” a book you could have picked up for around 3.99 out of any of those elementary school book clubs. You may have even gotten a poster of puppies sitting in a basket for free just for ordering.

Later this week comes our next SHOCKtoberSketch piece…POLAROID, for now though strap on some adult diapers and check out “Black Velvet Ribbon.”

Special thanks to my Sister-in-Law Michele for helping us out with a set and props.

ANNNNDDDD Don’t forget…NO “These People” Halloween Costume is complete without a These People T-Shirt now on sale in our store! They’ll up your already off the charts sexy quotient by at least 1000%…at least.

It’s a sweetriot in my mouth!

We fought hard about who would do the blog post this week. Words were said. Feelings were hurt. And here I am.

First up, thanks to the organizers, volunteers and anyone who made it out to the Hell’s Half Mile Film Festival last weekend. We were happy to be a part of it’s inaugural year and can’t wait for the next.

Next up I’m sure you’ve all witnessed the power of Magic Tampons. Great performance by Nick and our most costumed sketch to date. I enjoyed my costume so much I wore it out on the town that night.

Speaking of costumes… they’re costly. So in the next few weeks we’re going to be experimenting with ads placed at the end of sketches hosted on YouTube. So if you like what you’ve just watched and somehow see an ad for, oh let’s say, “The New CW” take a moment and click on it (hey, that “Smallville” is a good show). It helps us out a little and we might even save enough to get that bald cap for the next sketch.

Lastly, we’ve got our store up and running this week. Basically we saw an overcrowded t-shirt marketplace and said “Me too!” The These People logo was an obvious first choice. Just like John Hammond we’ve spared no expense, so enjoy!
